Looking at the world from a worm's point of view...

I guess some might be wondering what's with the melancholy aura I'm been carrying around for the past few days. Plain and simple... I'm feeling miserable. Why? Where do I begin? I've been sharing a big deal of time with this special someone for the past few months or so. I was thinking she might finally be the one after havin a disasterous past some time back. I poured all I had into this relationship. However, things weren't exactly rosy for the past couple of weeks due to a number of reasons I didn't foresee. Thought it might be good if we spent some time for a weekend getaway. I was really looking forward to it since both of us were pretty busy lately. The trip went really well at first. I really had fun chattin, laughing, doing the things couples usually do. Juz enjoying each other's company. However, as the weekend progressed, a strange silence started to wedge itself between us. A million questions started flooding my mind. Deperately trying to defuse the situation, gentle coaxing and more questions ensued but no answers were in sight. The silence was deafening. During the long drive home, not a word was uttered. Baffled, confused and sad were the adjectives I can only think of. As we parted ways once we reach home, I so desperately waited for a call from her. Late during the evening, I finally got an sms biddin me goodnight. Nothing more. When I finally managed to reach her, I heard the most heart wrenching thing I could fathom. She told me it's time we face up to the facts. We were as different as night and day. I know we had our petty fights before but I was no way ready for this bombshell I received. I tried to plead and salvage the situation. She gave me plenty of reasons not to do so. Some which I had to admit I was at fault. It's been several days since I heard from her. I don't know where I stand nor do I know what I'm going to do. The more I try, the more I screw things up. Guess I'm a loser with a capital 'L'.

I suprised by how frequent TBLOG have to be brought down for maintainence. Yeah, yeah... I know I shouldn't be complaining coz they're providing this service for free. I'm indepted to them. Kudos. But seriously... several times a month is kinda pushing it. Maybe we could be better alerted before the site shuts down for a full day? Juz my nonsensical ramblings... that's all

Haha... suprising. The server seems ok now... must be a glitch or something... kekeke...
Anyway, this is what I've been workin on during my free time over the past few days. Just an amateur attempt at emulating the big wigs over at Top Cow comics. Lame one though... Used some HBs for outlines, loads of Colleen colour pencils (uh... yup... the type schoolkids use... hehe), an Artline felt tip pen and a milipen (dunno why they call these mili... duh). Need some sleep now... nite nite everyone!

My department decided to throw us a quarterly dinner after workin us to the bone over the past few months. Which is nice. It's held at a revolving restaurant located at a hotel downtown. Pretty nice buffet although the selection of food is pretty generic. After that, me and a bunch of mates headed down to a hotspot further up north to get a drink and some chit chat. A good chance to try out the wifi card my colleague loaned me with hope that I'll buy it. Decided that it was way too much of a power hog. Drained my PDA battery almost dry in only half an hour. I don't think I'm gonna buy it. Nah... no point... limited use in this kinda situation. I'll stay wired for the time being.

Service? What service?
03.11.04 (9:57 pm) [edit]
Took my car to the service center this morning to get a few things rectified since it was still under warranty. Me, like countless others in this country, were forced into buying some crap of a national car called the "Proton". Unfair trade practices and internal market protection by the government which favours this national brand caused other foreign marques to be beyond the reach of the regular Joe.
Now... if the quality of this local brand is acceptable and the service provided is efficient, I would have no problems nor complaints. However, the journey into buying and maintaining my first car have been nothing less than a nightmare. I placed my order for one back in Sept 2001.
The dealer promised me a metallic silver Proton within 3 months (ridiculously long waiting period). Fine. 3 months passed. No news. They told me to wait a further 2 months. Fine. Yet again... no car. More waiting. By the 7th month, I was getting desperate since my dad have already sold off the existing car to make way for my new one and the inconvenience was horrendous.
Finally I confronted the dealer and gave hime a piece of my mind. He arrogantly offered me a ridiculous solution. He told me he have a blue version available and it was either take it and leave it. Or I could slip him some "under the counter" $$$ to jump the queue. Well... being in the situation I was in, I meekly accepted the former.
This was the beginning of a whole wave of new headaches to come. The service centre is a pretty good looking place. Well equipped, clean and pretty much state of de art. The ppl manning the place however weren't. They are the biggest bunch of incompetent morons I hav laid eyes upon.
They never start work on time. The receptionist is one hell of a mutha bitch with a really shrilly voice to boot. The backlog of unrepaired cars were the longest I have seen. And they have the most number of breaks I've ever seen in any establishments. And since the car have been imbued with so much quality control problems, I was forced to visit this centre pretty frequently.
Each time, I need to spend a minimum of half a day to get things straightened out. So far, I've encountered, blown tachometer backlight, broken door handles, jammed handbrake button release, misaligned windscreen, leaking rubber seals, creaking engine mountings and the latest, busted shock absorbers.
Like clockwork... I have to wait 2-3 weeks for the parts to arrive and another extra day to be fitted. I practically spend most of my annual leaves on fixing my car. I wake up at 6am, reach the workshop by 7 (to avoid the horrendeous queue), wait till 8.30 for the technicians to arrive, 9 before they start work, break at 10.30, resume at 11, stop for lunch at 1pm, resume at 2, tea at 4, drop wreches exactly at 5.30.
I'm a very patient person by nature. But this company have been stretching my patience to it's very limits. My warranty is about to expire. If the incompetent staff there screws up the parts order for the absorbers, I will have to shell out bout 1 grand to fix it myself.
Which actually I wouldn't mind, to save me the agony of going back there. I would like to share my views bout Proton. [b]FUCK U PROTON. FUCK UR FAT ASS FRONT, BACK, LEFT, RIGHT, 360 DEGREES ALL ROUND, STRAIGHT TO HELL!!! U SUCK!!![/b]

I'm tired. I mean really tired. Yesterday was the longest Sunday I had. Jammed packed with activities and errands from dawn till dusk. Practically driving the whole day from one end of the island to another; several times. Had to pry myself from the bed this morning or earn the wrath of my superiors. Will try and catch some forty winks later during lunch break... arggghhh... I just wanna sleep...

Doodlings...
03.06.04 (8:42 am) [edit]
I've got way too much free time on my hands lately. Most of the time, I'll be channel surfing aimlessly while munching away on sinfully rich junk food. Nice... but too much of a good thing is a bad thing. Anyway... saw a 2B pencil lying on the table today. Haven't seen one of these for eons. The last time I used this was for taking exams. Ever since then... it was pens and mechanical pencils. Decided to doodle my evening away. Hmm... what should I do with this stick of lead? Pulled out one of my old comics from my highschool years. Was a big fan of Micheal Turner then. He was the penciler for Witchblade. I used to idolize him. Wish I had some 4B pencils. 2Bs are kinda hard to work with. Anyway, bout an hour or so later... after much erasing and a lot of pencil lead later, came out with a crude sketch of Sara Penzini; the main character of the series. Nothing much to look at... but at least I had something to do during the evening... *sic* I'm too lazy to properly finish up the sketch... hehe. Sigh... I still need a lot of work on my drawing skills. Mabbe I could get some art lessons from my younger sis when she comes back home...

Mona Lisa.
03.03.04 (5:34 pm) [edit]
Caught Mona Lisa Smile last evening. A nice show... eventhough I missed the first 15 minutes because of the jam. It's a trite melodrama, which focuses on female empowerment back in the 50s. It has a stellar cast in Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst and Julia Stiles. Roberts is quite good as Katherine Watson, the arts history teacher. But this is by no means Oscar material. I really think her character could be fleshed out much better. Kirsten Dunst is much better as the over the top Betty while Julia Stiles was way underutilized. Overall... this is an average feelgood movie and a nice way to spend some 115 minutes away :P
