Migrating to new blog host.
07.14.05 (2:50 pm)   [edit]

Dear friends and fellow bloggers. The past one and a half years have been a great blogging experience over here at tBlog. I've posted many fragments of my life in this webpage and shared them with all of you. It was an intimate journey and I'm looking forward to continue doing so.

But, I've decided it's time to migrate to another blog host that can cater to my needs, which the current host can't. I'm also doing this in support of my buddy who created the new blogging site and took the effort to help me migrate over. Really appreciate it man ^_^

I hope you will update your links and head over to this new blog of mine at textmalaysia. Really looking forward to seeing you all there!

Thanks!

Queer eye for the blur guy...
07.11.05 (6:55 pm)   [edit]

I was supposed to meet up with my baby sis; L, at Midvalley on Friday when I reached KL. But I got there kinda early so I lepak-ed till late evening until she finally got off work. And boy... did she gave me one heck of a suprise...

Me : Wahlau-eh... 8.05pm liao. Long time no see... lu apa macam?

L  : Same-lar... same-lar. Eh... come quick, I've made an appointment for you.

Me : Huh? Wot appointment? Meet up with cool looking chick ah?

L  : You go dream lar. We've gotta fix you up. Look like uncle like tat... bleh...

Me : Where got? Still ok mar... see...? **pout... pout...**

Eh... look very uncle meh? I think I pretty sexy-leh... waaahahahaha... ok... ok... here's a bucket... sheeesh...

L  : **Vomit blood** Shaddap-lar... perasan x55000... let's go now... the hairstylist is waiting for you.

**Walk... walk... to 2nd floor of Midvalley**

Me : MAI LOONG SONG CHAI!!! Have to come until here meh? I usually get my hair cut for 6 bucks only at the Indian tambi barber shop! I'm not cut out for these type of fancy shmancy places ler...

L  : Aiya... come on ler. Try try and see lar. Besides... this is my early birthday gift to you... juz giv it a try... ^_^

Me : Whoa... really ah? Tank kiu... tan kiu... but still a little paiseh leh.......... aiyak... **get's yanked into the saloon...**

**We were greeted by this really professional looking lady called Wendy (W) and she ushered us in. I was then seated into this comfy looking chair... and was served tea some-more... fuiyooooooh!!! RAWK HABIS!!!**

W  : First time here? So tell me... what kind look are you looking for.

Me : **Look around... then points at my sis...**

L  : **smacks forehead...** Simple... juz make him look younger. Give him a spunkier image. Make him look more alive. He looks kinda dead now...

Me : **Gulp...**

W  : Ok. Let's see what we can do... **signals to a young female assistant**... give him a wash first.

The next 10 minutes was pure bliss. I never knew getting your hair washed by another person can feel this good. Especially when it's being done by the fairer sex... muaaaahahaha!!! After this, I was sent back to the chair with a huge turban on my head.

W  : Let's give you a trim. We'll need to take quite a bit off your top to give it a spikier look k? ** starts looping off my hair with Edward Scissors Hands like efficiency... then sends me off for another wash...**

Me : **looks into the mirror... whispers to self...** Aiyoyoyoyoyo... so much hair gone... can see scalp oso... aiyayayayaya...

W  : We need to work some product into your hair to give you the "juz woke up look". Here's some hair glue (I can't remember whazzit name...) which will do exactly that... **scrunch... scrunch...**. There... done. Good no?

L  : Yeah... looks much better now.

Me : Um... uh... ok... I guess so.

Walks over to the counter to pay up. Total damage?

Yaya... go ahead and laugh... I'm the very katak di ter-bawah tempurung type. How do I look now? You be the judge. I'm feeling a little gay though... waaahahahaa!!!

Thanks for the really unique birthday gift L! Very cool of you. Luv ya!

07.10.05 (8:23 pm)   [edit]

I'm bek ^_^ A pretty short break... but it was a welcomed one...

My bus to KL on Friday was delayed by 2 freakin hours, no thanks to the darn stooopid JPJ having "catch the busses which doesn't pick up passengers at the new Sungai Nibong bus station" field-day. Idiots. The bus operator kecut when he saw the officers moving in at Jelutong, so he unloaded all the passengers and cabut. Then he asked his boss to ferry all 20 pessengers to Sungai Nibong where he was waiting. **Waves fist of death at their incompetence... blek**

Other than that, the trip was ok. I'm glad to have visited my baby sis; L, who's working there, went on a shopping binge, stuffed myself silly wiv glorious food, managed to memorize all 3& nbsp;LRT and monorail routes by heart now and caught a movie. To those who're planning to catch War of the Worlds, my advice; save your hard earned moolah. It's juz another Tom Kurus "THIS IS MAH MOVIE... AND SO I HAV TO BE IN EVERY SCENE" vehicle. I could have sworn this has got to be the biggest turkey of 2005. Lousy script, so-so effects, irritating lead actor and crappy pacing. Blek x50000. Mabbe I'm juz biased; but my opinions could be based on me watching the traumatizing episode of Oprah, whereby he was behaving like a 13 year old kid juz fresh on reaching puberty. Moron.

Big Fish called me on Saturday to tell me bout the Auto Show which was being held at KLCC. I already visited the place earlier during the afternoon, so I decided to give it a miss. Wanted to maximize the time I had there. BIG MISTAKE. When I flipped open the newspaper this morning, I saw a section dedicated to the event. My eyes bulged. RACE QUEENS!!! MUTHALOAD OF DELECTABLE SKIMPY SEXY HOCHIE MOMMA RACE QUEENS!!! CMOS... YOU IDIOT!!! ARGGGGGHHHHHH... KILL ME NOW!!! Oh yeah... btw... the cars were pretty too... :-P

Here's a quick photo montage of my very short trip...

LRTs... LRTs everywhere... if only Penang had these...

The mutha of all shopping malls... Times Square. But suprisingly dead there...

I've always been smitten by the design of Sony outlets... but I still prefer the one at KLCC better...

KL Tower from Sungai Wang... damn hazy... hack.. cough... blek...

Rain... at Imbi... why now? I still have a gazillion places to visit ya know???

Paid de annual pilgrimage to my favorite tech-shrine... **kowtow... kowtow...**

Midvalley... mah favorite shoppin haven...

Meeting up wiv L; me baby sis... ^_^

Some male cancer awareness campaign... wiv loads of local celeb endorsements...

Yeah... FCUK YOU TOO... :-P

The bare essentials before crashing for the night...

On the way to the bus station...

Getting ready to go home... sigh... very hyperactive little kid in front of me...

Going home... rain again... double sigh...

This is sad...

Looks like the tBlog is really bringing my website down with it. The constant downtime have been really hurting traffic to this blog. Which indirectly also hurt the quality of my blog contents. When I really want to write, the damn thing is down. But when it's up... I juz end up writting rubbish... sigh... sien...

Anyways, I'll be heading down south to KL for the next 4 days. Was kinda an impulse decision. Short break to clear the  mind. I know it's kinda late... but I was wondering if any KL bloggers would like to meet up? I will still hav access to the net till Friday morning... so I'm really hoping someone will drop a comment or two, I should be able to reply in time (yes... I'm trying to whore myself here... ^_^). Most probably will be spending the bulk of my time at Mid-Valley and KLCC.

Anyways... cya all next week! A plethora of photos will most probably follow...

Excruciating Blogging Experience...
07.06.05 (1:48 am)   [edit]

T-Fucking-Blog have been so fucking unstable and unpredictable lately that it isn't funny anymore. Everytime I try to access my site, I'm rudely greeted by the following :

Things didn't get better since then. It got MUCH WORSE. The rest of the day I spent staring at this...

I mean... come on!!! I've never seen a blog hosting site with such frequent downtime, it grates on your nerves. Should have used Blogspot instead last time... blek... regret gila. Ppl blog whenever they feel inspired to do so. And everytime they're greeted by the waramashit "Pls be patient while we attempt to fix our ass" page... they juz lose interest to do so. SO FUCKING BUCK UP T-MAHAI-BLOG!!!

When grounding is a good thing.
07.05.05 (4:22 am)   [edit]

I have a bunch of colleagues who're&nb sp;crazy bout cars. And one these petrol head is my boss. Anyways, he's the one who psycho-ed me into getting a new set of rims bout a month ago; which left me eating porridge and salted eggs for the next 8 weeks... hahaha. Anyways, this dude have done quite extensive improvements to his Honda. New rims, noise insulation using Superlon, air intake catalyst, cockpit upgrades, Raizen voltage stabilization, grounding and further tar-ing the undercarriage of his ride. His Honda is one sweet set of wheels.

Which tempted me to do some minor improvements of my own. I don't have as deep a pocket as they do, so I can only attempt el-cheapo changes. The first thing I decided to do was improve the grounding of my car.

Everything involving your car's electrical system - from nice, fat sparks in your ignition system to nice, fat bass in your subwoofers - requires a free flow of electrons to and from the battery. Good electrical performance requires a grounding system that's prepared to take a lot of current with minimal resistance. Your spark plugs, lights, fans, stereo, air conditioner, cigarette lighter, and so on all benefit from an elaborate electrical network that includes fuses, relays, and high-quality electrical cabling. They all share a common ground, however, and all too often a stock (there's that word again!) grounding system consists of just a couple of skinny braided cables that connect the chassis and engine to your battery's negative terminal.

As these sorry connections rust out or come loose over time, the amount of conductive material decreases. This leads to resistance, as your car's electricity is forced to travel over less material. It's not unlike traffic: four lanes definitely accommodate more traffic than two. As your grounding wires deteriorate, resistance increases and all your electrical devices have to work that much harder to overcome that resistance. Even brand new cars can have problems with inadequate grounding, especially if you've installed lots of aftermarket electronics.

Which is why I decided to get a set of thick fat grounding cables to create some alternative superhighways for the electrons. Installation is pretty straighforward. Basically, you tie your firewall, cam-cover, alternator and transmission to the negative terminal of your battery. According to claims on the internet, you will notice increased torque, better gas mileage, quicker throttle response, more starting power, a smoother idle, and better sound from your stereo. We'll see how true these statements are.

Waramashit... the transmission and alternator are practically impossible to access on my car (stooopid engine cover), so I decided to skip these and tie additional points to my chassis. It took me about half an hour to hook up everything and tidy up the routings using cable-ties (the whole process was a real pain in the back... owww...). The thick blue cables really added some much needed color to the engine bay. Anyways, asthetics are one thing. Does it make a difference?

Honestly speaking, after a 15 minute ride, I did not feel any significant improvements. But I do see that the display doesn't dim as obviously when heavy electricals kick in like the AC. So I guess it's better than nothing. I'll update this entry when I get a chance to evaluate this grounding a little better. Actually I don't really care... I juz like the coolness factor of the blue cables... hahaha...

Why I'm so screwed...
07.03.05 (11:36 pm)   [edit]

Many many years ago... when I was juz a scared little kecik punek at one of those waramashit gahmen schools which is too cheap to replace the damn 3-legged wooden tables and chairs...

My maths teacher told me tat :

1 + 1 = 2

My physics teacher pulak say tat :

1 + 1 = 1

My arts teacher lagi terror and teach me :

1 + 1 = any colours under the sky. Your imagination is your limit!

Kanneh!!!

And you wonder why students nowadays are such a screwed up bunch... blek...

It's FRIDAY!!! WOOHOOOO! The day of the week everyone looks forward too. And like every other lazy bugger in this country, it's really hard to keep the engine running on this last working day before the weekend. Which is why I can't think of anything to blog about.

Daddycat finally received his Sony Ericsson T630 cameraphone after waiting in agony for bout a month. The waramashit dealer got into some kinda legal fiasco which made him almost settle for a refund. But alls well now and he's happily snapping away like nobody's business. You can tell by the stuff he snaps at...

Yes... this is the office loo... clean no?

Spent most of the day goofing around. Tea time was a riot at the office caferia. Especially when you have a cameraphone around... I will let these speak for itself...

Gaylord feeling mighty pleased with himself. Juz got off the phone wiv his sayang... observe the healthy pinkish glow on his cheeks... awww...

We don't really know why Pimp was covering his pretty mug. Either he's feeling rather emobapuk after the laksa he ate skyrocketed his estrogen levels. Or he's juz being his old cute sacastic self...

Your truly nearly gagging on his mug of coffee on realizing what Pimp was looking at...

Archilles feeling rather frisky... and yes... that's DaddyCat's finger of death...

Ko-lo Mee.
06.28.05 (7:37 am)   [edit]

Evening bloggers. Welcome to cmos's late night krepot cooking class. Hunger pangs? Never fear... I'm here to present to you some super kacang puteh solutions.

Anyways, here's the very first recipe. A bastardized version of the dry wanton noodles. But should come very close to the real McCoy. Ewah... I feel juz like Chef Wan now... ehehehe. Actually, like biasa, I'm juz too lazy to go shopping and get authentic e gg noodles so I'm cari easy to find substitutes in the my kitchen. It's almost one in the morning at the moment, mana ade market open rite? Er... mabbe the Pat-Phong type got lar... but that's another story... kekeke.

I'm sure most of you hensems and pretties are sick of those instant nonsense and all the meng-gunung amount of MSG which will end up in your system. So this dish is a good compromise; since it isn't exactly difficult to make and isn't kosong in the nutrisi dept. either. Oso, I'm also a tak kuasa lazy bugger, so here's my super waramashit version of the all time favorite ko-lo mee.

Ingredients (for masak masak) :

1 packet of instant noodles (tak kisah wot flavour asal not expired)
A stack of wanton skins (optional for making dumplings)
Minced pork + prawns (optional for making dumplings)
Cooking oil (dun use overnight hitam like arang goreng pisang oil cukup)
1 clove garlic (smash wiv parang or kapak, then chopped coarsely)
Dark soya sauce (for hitam manis flavour... like Amitabh Bachchan)
Light soya sauce (for masin gila like your-boss flavour)
Pepper to taste (a dash cukup)
Chopped spring onions or other garnishes of choice (pls dun use Adabi or Che Aminah cili sauce yah... blasphemy...)

1. Wrap wanton skins over small portion of minced pork+prawn to make dumplings. Make sure they are properly sealed at the edges. Dainty fingers help... like mine... ahahaha...

2. Bring water to boil. Drop in noodles, cook till tender, sieve and set aside. Dun boil sampai become like air lumpur... blek...

3. Bring another pot of water to boil and dump in dumplings. Simmer for bout 10 minutes or until cooked. Ohh... lovely... lovely...

4. Heat some cooking oil in a shallow pan. Throw in chopped garlic and stir-fry till fragrant. Set aside oil+garlic. This will be our home-made seasoning oil. I genius rite?

5. Put garlic oil in plate. Add in half a teaspoon of dark soya sauce followed by a twirl of light soya sauce. Control... jangan guna setengah botol... u dun wan become like Baja Hitam k? Silly you... aw...

6. Dump in noodles. Stir in seasoning oil till even. Add pepper to taste. Ewah... I should start my own cooking show... "The cmos Kerepot Kooking Show"... support me yah?

7. Put dumplings by the side of the plate and garnish with preferred condiments. Jeng... jeng... jejeng... Finito.

8. MAKAN TIME!!! Make sure u use hankie and eat not in gelojoh manner k?

*Author will not be responsible for any ter-kena food poisoning problems k? Coz author is a F-grade mia Jamie Oliver... langsung takbleh pakai one...

Take the Commonly Confused Words Test here.

But then again, I took this other test a month ago; which debunks the whole thing and in the process exposing me as a total idiot... so don't believe everything u read on the waramashit Net k?

My sign language...
06.26.05 (9:17 pm)   [edit]

Selamat petang my darlings. Oh... I'm so happy to see all my favorite ccbs today. Anyways, let cut all the kerepot talk and listen to my presentation for 5 minutes k? Today... eh... tak kuasa I... ehehehe... I yam going to teach you all, useful sign language to use in the ofis. Yes my darlings, you can communicate even if you don't open that toxic mulut lazer of yours... tau tak? So listen properly ye? These few hand gestures are very powderful... so try today yah?

i) The Hello

Yah my darlings. This is the most basic gesture you can make. If you too busy to greet someone, you juz raise you palm like tat and ppl will understand that you acknowledge them. So cool yah?

ii) The Geek

This one pulak we use when we wan to avoid irritating techie colleague. When he start sprouting his nonsense waramashite knowledge to you, you buat the terpegun face (like dumbfucked sang kancil in front of spotlight look), stare at him in awe like his burung one kind then show his this gesture. Sure satisfy his ego to no end, and he will leave you in peace.

iii) The Fist

Awrite my darlings... this one pulak is called the penumbuk. When your boss or damn lansi colleague ask you to do extra work that doesn't fall under your responsibility, this is the gesture to use. Wave in the air like you kena penyakit sawan or something. Most of the time they will back off. If doesn't work, you better prepare you resignation letter quick k?

iv) The Rawk.

Ahahaha... I like this one, my babies. Coz I listen to a lot of Rock Kapak. Ppl think I crazy. But when I raise this Rawk gesture (make sure both hands-lar...), fuiyoo... everyone look at me one kind. Then go jeee-jeng... jeeeeng-jee... jeee... jeee... jEEEEEENnGG... JeJEEeeeng (kasi palm muting sikit... baru ade iras-iras like Man Kidal)... fuuiyooo... your boss will respek. And he give you less work to do or ask you take MC. Ewah...! Win win situation rite?

v) The Emo

Of coz, there are times when you need to be serious sikit. Like sometimes, your colleague come over wiv Ah Long super-owning sad life story. You must use the right gesture to show that you care coz the bastard very sad at the moment. Listen attentively, then use this hand gesture every once in a while to show that you are 150% certified emobapuk individual. Make sure you accentuate the pinkie gesture... veli important. Btw... remember, use dainty teacup and not mug like me yah? Gua mia teacup pecah tat day coz ter-dengar stock option I jatuh tinggal lima kupang je...

vi) The Finger

Yah my darlings, working in the ofis can be veli stressful. So sometimes we need to express ourselfs... rite? So when got some MAI LOONG SONG CHAI   bugger kacau you... dun marah k? Show him the love... use the finger. Stare at the floor first... then slowly bring the finger up to his point of view... then aim for his lubang hidung... he'll get the message. Simple yah? The finger is very powderful gesture so use sparingly yah? Remember, wiv great powder... comes great resposibilities.

Awrite... I sudah terpesong masa oreidi. I gotta stop lekture no w k? Sebagai kata-kata penutup... it doesn't matter how you present yourself... it how you present your gestures that make you, you. As in the words of TV3 ace environmental reporter Encik Karam Singh Walia :

Okie... bie bie! Muaks!

I'm fat... I'm fat...
06.26.05 (5:00 am)   [edit]

Wow. I clocked in 11 hours worth of Season 2 "24" over the past 2 days. It's freaking addictive... can't force myself to hit the stop button. DAMN YOU ACHEW FOR LOANING ME THE DVDS!!! (Kiddin man... it helped pass the time reaaally fast... mucho gracias). I'm down to the last 2 DVDs at the moment... JACK BAUER ROCKS BIG TIME!!!

Nways, I decided to spend some time doing the things I used to love doing today. It's been approx half a year since I did any real hiking so I made up my mind to see how much things have changed at the old trails. I didn't bother to change; juz slipped on a pair of busted old sneakers, pocketed my trusty digicam and a bottle of H2O. 15 minutes later, I was at the base of Jambul Hill.

This is one of the simpler trails. I used to be able to reach the peak in 18 minutes flat when I last climbed it. Bear in mind, that was about 7 months back. And so I started my hike. Piece of cake I told myself.

By the time I finished the tar road stretch, I was already panting. Doesn't look too good. Now comes the dirt track. 12 minutes into the hike, my head started to feel woozy. Damn... I'm in worse shape than I thought. Double fark... blek. All those late nite mamak outings plus the mountains of nasi kandar I ate during the daily lunch DOTA sessions at BS must be taking it's toll.

I needed 2 shorts breaks before I reached the summit. Heart felt like it's gonna burst outta my chest. It took me well over 20 minutes before I stopped sweating and any colour returned to my face. My cardiovascular health is in a very dissapointing state. I'll have to hit the gym more often nowadays. Fark... fark... fark...

Halfway into the hike... the sights of the endless steps are really demoralizing... for a nasi kandar junkie...

Stopping to catch my breath... I'm hyperventilating... **gasp**

More steps... "OH, SOMEONE PLEASE KILL ME NOW!!!"

Finally, the summit came into view. Machepet... I still have a pulse... I'm not dead yet... ???

I took this photo bout a year ago. Clear skies... nice view.

This was what I saw today. DAMN BLOODY HAZE!!! WHY MUST YOU COME SO OFTEN!!! YOU MAKE THE AIR SMELL LIKE SHITE!!! WHERE THE HECK IS TV3'S KARAM SINGH WALIA WHEN YOU NEED HIM?

New toy.
06.23.05 (10:29 pm)   [edit]

Okies. I know what u all are going to say. A new header, new colour scheme, different fonts doesn't exactly count as a site revamp. But hey... it's a start right? I'll be adding some new content along the way, which I hope will make for some interesting reading. But I kinda like what I hav for now.

This week can be summarized by one word; WORK. The headcount for the project I'm workin on got chopped from 5 down to 3; which includes the big kahuna. And that translates into... more work. It doesn't help that there're daily alteration requests coming the States and Canada which keeps pouring in like a busted faucet; the workload juz keep piling up. Usually I'm be cursing like a sex-deprived sailor during times like these, but ironically, I welcome the madness at the workplace for the time being. I feel alive. I feel important. And the best part about it; the mind is constantly occupied.

I've been using this sucker for design work over the past 4 and a half years. It's an underpowered 270Mhz SUN Ultra5 workstation running on 256MB of RAM. Absolutely hopeless when it comes to opening huge databases, sorta like flogging a donkey to pull an 18-wheeler. Anyone coming to hav a looksy at the obsolete hardware we're using will definitely blurt "MAI LOONG SONG CHAI!!!" **shock... horror...**. Oh yeah... pimp juz came bek from Bangkok and have been feeding us with loads of new nonsensical Thai quips. He's an absolute riot.

Yes... that's a bottle of minyak angin on the top left of the cpu casing... I don't really use it. It's more for show... minyak angin = headache = working hard...

Anyways, last Wednesday morning, MIS dropped by my cube and told me, "Hey, we're ready to get rid of that rustbucket of yours". FINALLY. I wasn't hoping for much, I tot I would be getting a recycled Ultra10 wiv a Gig of memory or so. When the trolley arrived, I was suprised to see this purplish hued rectangular box. FAKADAK... they gave me a SUNBlade 150... complete wiv 2 freakin Gigs of memory! WOOOHOOOO!!! I finally got rid of the need to piggyback on other ppls workstation or beg for a login onto one of the Enterprise servers in the server room to do my work ;)

I'm one happy sotong... till I found out I was one of the last among my batch to receive an upgrade... ccb... tiuniaseng... mai loong song chai... mujay samuj may nahi atahai... blek x50000  :-P

Hahaha... still, better late than never... kakaka... ^_^

Oh... btw... my grasshead is doing reeeeeaaaaally well :-)

**Totally bowled over to see how happening the blog community in Malaysia have grown. Hop over here, here and here to have a looksy... HOT... HOT... HOT!!!

06.19.05 (6:37 am)   [edit]

The past three days posed more questions than answers. But one thing was certain; we weren't getting anywhere. It was a hard decision to make. Much harder than either side expected.

CL and I decided to go our own ways for now. We will remain friends, but truth be told, it hurts like crazy. It's been quite a while since I cared this much bout a person; letting go was like losing a part of myself.

I started this blog at around the same time I first started going out wiv her. Which makes it all the more special. And that's why I don't feel the need to continue blogging for now. I will be back once I see things in a better light.

Till then, take care blogosphere.

Karaoke... music from hell.
06.18.05 (3:41 am)   [edit]

I didn't get much sleep over the past week or so. Even less last night. So I was looking forward during the weekend to grab some shut eye to rejuvenate myself. I hardly take afternoon naps but today, I was so worn out, I'd try anything.

I slowly slipped into the unconcious world, and within minutes, I konked out. It was pure bliss. But this was short lived. I started hearing static crackling and hisses... the neighbour is setting up her AV system again. I limply opened an eyelid. Then it struck me. Oh FAK. That could only mean one thing... KARAOKE HELL.

And true enough, Chinese oldies began blaring out moments after that. Okie... that I can swallow. Then the singing started. My neighbour loves singing in this falseto kinda voice... ethereal when done right... super waramashit when done wrong. Trully is one of the most irritating noises in the world. Try scratching your fingernails across a chalk-filled highschool black board. You'll get the picture.

Anyways, let's juz say my afternoon siesta fizzled out after that. I'm still sleepy as hell... but now compounded by extreme irritation. I will be uploading sample soundbites for your listening pleasure very soon. It's good to spread good things around...

*Update : Here're 2 badly recorded samples I managed to take using my dinky PDA. I cannot be held responsible for any loss of hearing or trauma arising from the recordings. Grab them here.

Progress.

Farkin IRS...
06.15.05 (8:39 pm)   [edit]

I received an envelope this morning wiv a piece of pinkish coloured paper inside. Pink... of all colours. Anyways, it's from the local IRS; or LHDN as they call it at this side of the world. Must be a luv letter or something I thought. Guess wot? What I cannot understand is (Pimp's favorite quote), even after my meticulous tax calculations year after year, I still owe the fookin Gahmen several hundred bucks. Tiu.

Anyways, as usual, it was stated that if I don't cough out the fookin moolah, they will drag my fat ass down to court, charge me under Section PEN1-S Tax Evasion Act #584, block my travelling documents, strip me, beat me, do me... yada-yada-yada. And they have the cheek to print "TANPA PRASANGKA" in bold letters at the top of the document. Which basically means No Prejudice. Dunno wot they're trying to prove here, but I'm insulted...

So I rushed down town from my workplace, which was at the other end of the island during lunch to try and clarify things. Turns out the outstanding amount was back-logged from years 2002-2003. Farkers... could have informed me earlier-mar.

Thanked the lady in Counter 5 for the explaination then went down to Bank Bumiputra to make the bloody payment. Anyways, it's been a complete waste of my time. Things like this shouldn't happen but it still happens.

Whatever man... LHDN... nah... I give you full marks...

Five out of five fingers of death... :-P

International Webloggers Day (InWeDay :Penang Meet)
06.14.05 (7:40 pm)   [edit]

Lucia of Mental Jog organized yet another blogger's meet in conjunction with the International Webloggers Day on the 14th of Jun. I almost didn't make it as it was a weekday and faham-faham saja-lar... we lowly paid engineers work crazy hours. But thankfully the traffic wasn't that bad and I managed to finally haul my bigass butt to Prangin Mall at around 7-ish pm. There were already about 8 persons there when I arrived. Which was a plesant suprise as the previous blog meet only managed to attract 4.

There were some old faces (Lucia, Ong) and there were a whole load of new ones (Julius, Jasdev + Selena, Jeremy and n305er) ! Anyways, I introduced myself and we started cakap kosong since there weren't any real agenda. 20 minutes later, Azhari, he]ix and Raz popped in. A number of them are MPC members so we managed to click rightaway.

The foodcourt was booming with our voices as we talked bout everything under the sun. Current events, 'politics', business, the latest SPG scandal, metrosexuality, gay pride, getting in touch wiv our feminine side, etc... nothing was taboo. Lotsa photo moments too. I'm so glad I got my digicam back in time for this meet. Each of us were also given a small momento, courtesy of Ong. It was mucho fun.

Here're some pics from the meet :

Jeremy puckering up for the camera... **muaks!**

Selena, Jasdev and n305er thinking hard bout how we bloggers can bring about world peace...

Nah... we were actually talking bout the SPG scandal... ^_^

Group shot. Observe the suave-ness of all the attendees... **isk.. tak kuasa I...**

"Actually... my goatee is way more gaya than Azhari's and Ong's... I use premium quality VO5 hot-oil treatment u know?"

he]ix about to loose his balance on seeing a hot chick pass by...

Lousy table-level shot... but it still turned out not bad... hahaha... ;)

Pet Fiesta at Gurney.
06.12.05 (8:00 pm)   [edit]

I came across this advert on the papers that there will be a Pet Fiesta/Show which will be taking place at Gurney Plaza during the weekend. What can I say... who doesn't luv dogs? So I went down during Sunday to snap a few pics of those of-so-kawaii pooches. I learnt 2 things here. One, shooting dogs are a pain in the ass... they juz won't hold still. Out of 60 over shots, only a third came out decent. Two, the steel cages were a real a hindrance. I had to jam my camera lens thru the openings to get a proper shot... risking the opt ics being slobbered in the process.

Anyways, here're some of the dogs on display. Archilles have been dying to blog bout it but unfortunately didn't bring his D70 along when he went wiv Dan, so I passed the rest of my pics to him. I pulak... went alone... sad-huh? **cry like bapuk...**

The bigass banner which greets you at the entrance.

Curly here looks absolutely wilted in the really humid weather...

... so does little poochie.

Snow white doesn't seem to be havin any problems though ^_^

The lady holding the chi-hua-hua here definitely ain't Paris Hilton...

Dog... Lion? Chow chow rulez...

This little fella juz wouldn't hold still... sorta like a junkie on meth... hahaha...

One of the dog show rejects... being shipped back to Timbuktu...

I wanna go home... **sniff... sniff...**

ZZTop's latest recruit...

I dun wanna see ur mug here ever again... kapish?

Now this is one handsome fella ^_^

Where's my treat? I can't keep looking cute the whole day without nutrition ya know?

And lastly... the little puppy who stole everyone's heart. Sooooooooooo Cuuuuuuuuuuteeeeeeeee!!!

Watching paint dry... blek...
06.12.05 (2:33 am)   [edit]

Sien-ar. This weekend have basically been like watching paint on the wall dry. Arrggghhh! And the bugger c c b s (yes... you four waramashites...) doesn't seem to be interested in having a DOTA session in Boot Sector... satu sms put takde... blek.

I farking hate being bored. I farking hate rotting alone. WTF-lar... I ended up befriending my nephew's stubby 2B pencil for the past 2 hours to keep myself occupied. I can still remember Gaylord quoting "but it seems these days he's only interested in sketching frogs and honda cars" on our yet to be launched 5-author joint website. Wei... frogs... leng luis... frogs... leng luis... which easier to draw? I oso need motivasi sometimes before I can draw rite? t(-_-t)

Anyways, this week's sketch is dedicated to Gaylord; featuring his beloved Ayumi Kinoshita, the Yellow DekaRanger. Hope this can help appease you... pls... pls... pls... don't kutuk me liao for the next few days k? I oso got feeeeelings one. You yawn at everything I do... I manyak sakit hati u know...? Chi mou? Blek x50000...  :P

It's back!
06.08.05 (7:05 am)   [edit]

I finally got my Casio digicam back! I'm estatic, though it has been an excruciating one and a half month wait. Like most Malaysian consumers, I did not fill up the warranty card during purchase. Which turns out to be the wisest move I made since my digicam died on me a year and a half after purchase. Many thanks to the lady at Foto Easycam for helping me sort out my expired 'warranty' claim.

I bugged her to no end over the past 6 weeks but she was pretty patient wiv me. Anyways, the camera was sent down to Kuala Lumpur for servicing but they didn't have the parts there. So it was shipped over to Singapore. No luck there either. Then it was dispatched to Hong Kong where it was finally fixed. And I got it back today.

However, I'm kinda suprised to find a number of hot pixels appearing on the photos after I made a few test shots. Which weren't there before. This irks me to no end but I shouldn't exactly be complaining since the digicam was supposed to be 'dead' if not for the 'warranty' claim. So no biggie. Expect loads of pics in my coming posts since I'm dying to make up lost opportunities. I never expected to grow so attached to this little electronic gizmo... ahhhh... **warm fuzzy feeling all over**

I'm broke... but I'm happy... ;)
06.07.05 (1:05 am)   [edit]

*Note : This post is basically an informal scientific experiment to prove beyond questionable doubt that males truly are the dumber gender.

It's good to finally have a little peace after a rather tumulous week. So, I decided to kick back and do the things I've been negleting for the past few days. There I was washing my car on a lazy Monday morning, when I realized my tires were getting pretty bald. And since my company decided to give us a replacement holiday that day, I thought I should drop by my regular workshop to get them replaced.

When I arrived, I told Ah Long; the boss, that I needed a new set of rubbers. "Can... can... sit first" he muttered. He then pointed towards the rack on the left and said "New arrival... have a look look ok?". What I saw weren't tires but a row of gleaming new Advanti rims on display. One particular set caught my eyes and next thing I knew... I lost all sense of logic. I decided I had to have these babies there and then. Highly polished alloy with gunmetal trimmings... ohhh... be still my beating heart... (hey... guys have uncontrollable shopping urges too you know...)

I've always hated the stock rims which came with my car. They were bland as heck and the really ugly Thundercat-like Proton logo stood out like some diseased infection. So, I was really delighted when Ah Long took out his air-hammer and removed the spastic wheels from my ride. He then asked me to decide what rubbers should go onto my new rims.

When I went to the workshop, I basically just wanted to get a set of locally made rubbers that will set me back by no more than 700 bucks. Yet again, Ah Long the 'devil' rolled out a new set of Yokohama C-Drive-s and told me, "Just launched. Made in Japan. Think think properly first ah? I giv you good good price." Fakaduck. My brained got poisoned again as I read about the rave reviews these C-Drives received in the May issue of Hypertune magazine. It almost felt like an automotive blasphemy if I didn't get these. Ok. Ah Long grinned like an imp when I gave him the greenlight.

So the new Yoko rubbers went onto the rims and they were ready to go onto my car. But since the grease-monkey spirit had already possessed me that very afternoon, I asked Ah Long to slap on a set of anodized black Allen-key wheel nuts and fill the tires up with nitrogen gas instead of normal compressed air. Konon-nya the gas will give the tires better balance and stability since it was inert. These weren't necessary... but since I haven't felt this excited in a long time, I decided to go for broke.

Anyways, 2 hours later, after balancing and allignment was done, I was one marafarkin happy sotong.

Total damage... er... somewhere around 2 grand. It's gonna be kiam hu (salted fish) and porridge for me the next 3 months. I'll post a review on the Yokohama C-Drive-s once I complete the 500km scrub-in period for the rubbers.

Happy... happy... happy... broke.

**Thanks bigfish for borrowing me your IXUS. Er... sell me for RM200 boleh?
